Red Lady

Actinidia 'Red Lady' is a variety of Actinidia polygama, renowned for its striking variegated foliage: leaves change color from snow-white to raspberry-red throughout the summer, creating a picturesque plant appearance. The plant is of medium height, female type, with one-year-old shoots of medium length, glabrous, and with smooth leaf surfaces. The leaf blade is ovate, finely serrated edges, and an acute apex.

The fruits of the variety are characterized by orange color, cylindrical shape, and thin skin. The average fruit weight is about 4.4 g, and the maximum is up to 5.6 g. Inside, it contains 12.2% sugars and 0.9% acids, giving the berries a sweet-sour taste with a slight pepper aroma. Vitamin C content reaches 98.3 mg/100 g. The fruit stalk is short and green.

'Red Lady' is distinguished by high resistance to pests and diseases, requires no covering, and is well hardy. The average yield is about 27.3 c/ha. The plant is suitable for cultivation in warm regions, where its bright foliage and juicy berries will delight the eye and taste.
