Field Experience with the Amazone Cirrus

When you take the Amazone Cirrus out for the sowing season, you realize it was designed with the operator in mind. The most significant advantage is the calibration process—it is intuitive and straightforward. You don't waste precious morning hours messing with bucket tests; everything is handled via the terminal. The metering system is exceptionally consistent, handling various seed sizes without the frustrating skips or doubles that plague older equipment.

Field Performance and Soil Handling

One of the biggest concerns with large implements is maneuverability, but the Cirrus handles headland turns surprisingly well. What really impressed me during minimum tillage applications is the roller design. The trapezoidal tire profile creates perfect seed-to-soil contact without compacting the ground between the rows. Even when pushing the speed up to 14 km/h, the coulter pressure holds steady, ensuring a consistent seeding depth across the entire working width.

Maintenance and Durability

Maintenance is where the German engineering shines. The grease points are placed logically—you don't have to be a contortionist to service the machine. The main thing to watch out for is cleaning the distribution head after using treated seeds; if you keep that area clear and stick to the hydraulic filter schedule, the machine is incredibly reliable. It’s a workhorse that doesn't demand constant mid-day repairs, provided you keep up with the basic preventative maintenance.
