Purpose and Design Features

The self-propelled sprayer "Boguslav MAF" (specifically the MAF 4200 model) is a flagship line of equipment manufactured by the "Boguslav Agricultural Machinery" company. This machine is designed for high-performance chemical crop protection and the application of liquid mineral fertilizers on large areas. The design is based on a robust frame that ensures stability while operating on uneven terrain and utilizes a high-clearance layout, allowing for treatments during intensive crop growth stages without mechanical damage to the plants.

Engine and Transmission

The heart of the sprayer is a Volvo Penta or Deutz diesel engine (depending on the configuration) with a displacement of 6 to 7 liters, delivering up to 240–260 horsepower. High torque, combined with a hydrostatic transmission from leading global manufacturers (such as Bosch Rexroth), provides smooth speed control and effective hill climbing even when the tank is fully loaded. Electronic traction control allows for maintaining a stable speed in the range of 0–35 km/h, optimizing fuel consumption.

Undercarriage and Operator Comfort

The machine is equipped with an all-wheel pneumatic suspension system, which, paired with hydraulic track width adjustment (from 2100 to 3000 mm), allows the machine to be adapted to different row spacings. The increased ground clearance of up to 1600–1800 mm is a critical factor when operating during the late vegetative stages of corn or sunflower. The operator's cabin has a class 4 protection rating, equipped with carbon filters, air conditioning, and a pneumatic seat, minimizing the impact of pesticides and vibrations on the worker.

Spraying System and Hydraulics

The operating system includes a 4200-liter main polyethylene tank and a rinsing tank. The boom features a pendulum stabilization mechanism and an anti-sway system, ensuring uniform distribution of the product at speeds of up to 20 km/h. The use of Italian-made diaphragm-piston pumps (Annovi Reverberi) ensures a flow rate of up to 280 l/min. An automatic section shut-off system via GPS navigation eliminates overlaps and overconsumption of expensive crop protection products.

Application in Agricultural Operations

The "Boguslav MAF" effectively meets the needs of agricultural holdings and large farming enterprises for rapid execution of protective measures. The equipment shows excellent results in applying fungicides, insecticides, and herbicides, as well as working with UAN (liquid nitrogen fertilizer). The possibility of installing an on-board computer with ISOBUS protocol support allows for integrating the machine into precision farming systems, enabling variable rate application according to task maps.

Maintenance and Reliability

Maintenance is simplified thanks to ergonomic access to engine and hydraulic components. The use of imported components (Italy, Germany, USA) ensures the availability of spare parts in the market. The sprayer frame undergoes a powder coating process, which, combined with anti-corrosion treatment, increases the lifespan of the metal structures even when in contact with aggressive liquid fertilizers.
