Description
Kentucky Bluegrass variety "Limousine" – a perennial grass of the Poa pratensis L. genus, developed by Euro Grass Breeding GmbH & Co.KG in 1998 and registered in 2000. It is characterized by frost resistance, a low rhizome system, and the ability to form a dense turf, making it an ideal material for lawns with high traffic loads.
The variety belongs to the aggressive type of bluegrass, characterized by rapid lateral growth and intensive tillering. This ensures extremely high grass density and excellent wear resistance even at low mowing levels (1–1.5 cm). Limousine withstands drought, flooding, frost, and unfavorable weather conditions, as well as is resistant to trampling. Its leaves are dark green, narrow, and decorative, without strong anthocyanin coloring.
The advantages of "Limousine" include high regeneration after loads, a powerful turf, and the ability to maintain a dense sward under intensive use. The variety is widely used in professional sports fields, golf courses, equestrian tracks, and putting greens, including stadiums of the German Bundesliga (e.g., RheinEnergieStadion, Veltins-Arena, Rewirpowerstadion). Its application rate is 2 kg per 100 m², and the quality complies with GOST R 52325-2005. Due to these characteristics, "Limousine" is considered premium quality and a sought-after choice for creating durable and aesthetically appealing lawns.
