Will

The buckwheat variety Will is a tall plant with an indeterminate growth type, reaching a height of 101 to 106 cm. This mid-season variety with a vegetation period of 82 to 102 days is characterized by high plasticity and adaptability to various soil and climatic conditions, making it suitable for cultivation in the Polissia, Forest-Steppe, and Steppe zones of Ukraine. The seeds have a 1000-seed mass of approximately 27.7–28.1 g, and the sowing rate varies from 2.0 to 3.5 million seeds per hectare depending on the sowing method.

The Will variety is resistant to major buckwheat diseases such as peronosporosis, bacterial spot, and powdery mildew, as well as to pests. Thanks to these qualities and high drought resistance, the plant demonstrates stable yields. The potential yield reaches 40 centners per hectare, with an average guaranteed yield of approximately 22–30 centners per hectare. The flour extraction rate from the seeds ranges between 74–76%, making this variety attractive for food use.

The buckwheat Will was developed through careful selection of the best representatives of various varieties and was registered in the Ukrainian Variety Register in 2015. Sowing is recommended to be carried out at the end of April to the beginning of May, ensuring optimal conditions for plant growth and development. The high nutritional and technological qualities of the flour make this variety in demand both for agricultural production and for the food industry.
