Description
Cockia 'Royal Castle' – a decorative shrub up to 100 cm in height that quickly shapes up and becomes a bright accent in the landscape. The bush is upright, pyramidal, with a dense, closed structure, making it wind-resistant and suitable for use as a hedge element.
The plant's leaves are light green, small, yet densely cover the branches. From late summer to frost, they acquire a burgundy-red color, adding seasonal interest and contrast to garden design. The inflorescences are sturdy, and the flowers are small and green, which does not distract from the main decorative value of the bushes.
Care for 'Royal Castle' is simple: the plant prefers sunny spots and warm soil but does not tolerate waterlogging. Seeds can be sown in seedlings in April, and transplanted in May at a depth of 1–1.5 cm. After rooting, vegetation is spaced 40–100 cm apart. It is easily pruned; pruning is best done in early summer to maintain a compact pyramidal shape and stimulate the growth of new shoots. Due to high resistance to diseases and pests, 'Royal Castle' is suitable for both single and group compositions on lawns and flower beds.
