Ducat is an early maturing variety of garden cress that grows quickly and is frost resistant. Seeds can be sown from March to September, laying them at a depth of 0.5–1.0 cm in rows with row spacing of 12–15 cm. 2–3 weeks after the emergence of shoots, the greens are ready for harvest; at this point, the leaves are already semi-raised and have a delicate texture.
The leaf blade of the Ducat variety is characterized by an intense green color, a length of up to 12 cm, and a slight wavy edge. The taste is spicy, and the greens themselves are valued for their high content of vitamins, iron, iodine, and potassium, making them a beneficial addition to the diet.
The variety reaches technical maturity quickly: from sowing to harvest it takes only 18–20 days. Thanks to this, Ducat is especially popular for quick obtaining greens in winter and early spring periods, as well as suitable for both open ground and home growing.
