Hairy Brome 'HAIRY BROME' – a tetraploid variety with semi-erect bushes and a medium stem length without hairiness. Leaves have a glaucous-green tint, medium hardness, and awns of medium size ending in a rounded tip. Inflorescences are also medium in size and density, colored glaucous-green, which gives the plant a characteristic appearance.
The plant reaches a height of 80 cm, making it convenient for mechanized harvesting. The yield of green mass is 108.3 centners per hectare, hay – 46.6 c/ha, and seeds – 3.8 c/ha. These indicators confirm the high productivity of the variety and its suitability as a forage grass.
'HAIRY BROME' is distinguished by good drought resistance and the ability to grow on various soil types, including chernozem, brown, sandy, and solonetz soils. The plant does not tolerate prolonged flooding by spring waters, but responds well to irrigation. Due to high forage value and grazing resistance, the variety is widely used in pasture systems, where it can persist for 15 years and more.
