Salad «MIRNA» – a medium-maturing endive variety belonging to the Frise type. It is distinguished by large rosettes with dark green, scalloped-edge leaves and a yellow-green center, making it particularly attractive for fresh market consumption.
The vegetative period of «MIRNA» is approximately 60‑65 days, that is, about two months. The variety withstands both open and closed ground well, as well as hot weather, which allows for cultivation during summer and autumn periods. Dutch breeders Enza Zaden developed this variety with the aim of ensuring high yield and ease of care: it is resistant to edge burn and bolting.
Before consumption, the bitterness of «MIRNA» leaves can be slightly removed by soaking them in salted water for 10‑20 minutes. This makes the product softer and more pleasant in taste. The variety is suitable for fresh salad, stewing, and is easily processed in the production of ready-made dishes.
