Productivity and Resistance Drivers

• Biomass Output: The variety yields between 30–45 t/ha of green mass. These figures are achieved through rapid regrowth rates following each cut, maximizing the use of the growing season.
• Pathogen Defense: The genetic architecture of Medino provides inherent resistance to smut (Ustilago). This feature practically eliminates the risk of yield loss and feed quality degradation common in susceptible varieties.
• Climate Resilience: With a drought resistance rating of “above average,” the variety utilizes a deep root system to access deep-soil moisture. This makes it a preferred choice for arid and semi-arid regions with erratic precipitation.

Practical Application and Crop Management
