Dolsura

Dolsura F1 is a medium-early hybrid of the Watermelon type 'Piel de Sapo', developed by the Dutch breeding company Rijk Zwaan. The vegetation period is approximately 65-70 days from transplanting, allowing this variety to be grown both in open and protected ground. The plant features strong growth, long stems, dense foliage, and a well-developed root system, providing stress resistance and adaptability to various agronomic conditions. The hybrid bears fruit evenly and actively develops even under high temperatures and intense sunlight. The fruits of Dolsura watermelon have an oval shape with smooth or slightly bumpy green skin, weighing from 1 to 3 kg, averaging 2-2.5 kg. The flesh is white with a slight greenish tint, dense, moderately juicy, and sugary with a Brix level up to 16%. The flesh has a vanilla-pear flavor reminiscent of childhood ice cream, making this variety especially attractive to consumers. The harvest ripens uniformly, is easy to collect, and withstands long-distance transportation while maintaining its quality and flavor for several weeks after harvest. Dolsura F1 is widely used for fresh consumption on domestic and export markets, as well as for industrial processing including canning and drying.
