Karameza

Karameza F1 watermelon is a mid-season Cantaloupe-type hybrid developed by the Dutch company Enza Zaden. The plant's vegetation period is 60–65 days, allowing harvest almost at the beginning of the season. The plant is vigorous, with a well-developed leaf canopy and a strong root system, providing resistance to drought and enabling successful cultivation both in open ground and under temporary covers. Karameza F1 is low-maintenance and highly resistant to Fusarium wilt, as well as tolerant to powdery mildew and other fungal diseases. The fruits of Karameza F1 watermelon are uniform, round, weighing 1.5–1.8 kg, which is the optimal size for market. The rind is cream-colored with a large, clearly visible netting, thin and firm, protecting the flesh, which has a rich orange-cream hue. The flesh is thick, tender, and very aromatic, with a small seed cavity and sugar content up to 13%, providing excellent flavor. Due to its abundant leaf mass, the fruits ripen evenly from all sides, do not crack, and have an attractive market appearance. Karameza F1 watermelon is ideal for fresh consumption and for early-season market sales in supermarkets and fresh markets. The fruits withstand transportation well and can be stored for up to a month without loss of flavor or market quality. The hybrid demonstrates high resistance to adverse weather conditions and minimal rejection rate, making it a profitable and reliable choice for both seedling cultivation and direct sowing.
