OUR HOPE

The 'Our Hope' melon variety is a mid-late variety with a vegetation period of 70-80 days from the first seedlings. The fruits of this variety have a broadly rounded shape with a ribbed surface and a bright yellow color adorned with striking greenish-yellow stripes, which are hidden by a rough surface net. The skin is rough, and the fruit weight ranges from 3 to 5 kg. The flesh is light yellow, medium dense, juicy, very sweet, and aromatic, with a dry soluble substance content of up to 14-15%.

The variety is characterized by high yield, synchronized ripening, and good transportability, which allows keeping the fruits for a long time without loss of quality. Thanks to these characteristics, 'Our Hope' is suitable for both open-field cultivation and commercial use.

Agrotechnology for cultivation includes sowing seeds in March-April for seedlings or in May-June directly into the open ground. Before sowing, it is recommended to treat the seeds with a potassium permanganate solution followed by rinsing. Seedlings are planted at the stage of 3-4 true leaves after the threat of frost, following a planting scheme of 100 x 100 cm. During growth, plants are formed into a single stem, removing side shoots and leaving 2-3 fruits. Plant care includes moderate watering, soil loosening, and feeding, which contributes to obtaining a high-quality and abundant harvest.
