Description
'Serpianka' is characterized by high yield and excellent transportability, making this variety attractive for mass cultivation and commercial use. Thanks to these qualities, the watermelon retains its properties well during transport and storage, which is crucial for market distribution.
For successful cultivation of 'Serpianka' watermelon, seedling cultivation is recommended. Seeds are sown in mid-April, after pre-soaking and waiting for germination. Seedlings are transplanted into peat-compost pots, then into open ground after the threat of frost has passed, typically between May 18 and 25. Proper spacing between plants and rows is essential, as well as training the plants by leaving a specific number of fruiting nodes and removing excess shoots, which promotes better fruit development and increases yield.
