Description
SUCCESSFUL is a millet variety developed at the Tatar Research Institute of Agriculture in 1991. It is characterized by early maturity with a growing season of 60–65 days, allowing for harvests in short periods. Plants of this variety are low-growing, with thin and strong stems that provide resistance to lodging. Leaves, stems, and lemma have an anthocyanin coloration, giving the plant a distinctive appearance. The panicle is spreading, loose, and slightly nodding, which promotes good ventilation and reduces the risk of disease.
The grain of the SUCCESSFUL variety is creamy white in color and semi-oval in shape, with a 1000-seed weight of 6.8–7 grams. The groats contain 16.5% protein, making this variety valuable for food and feed use. Thanks to its characteristics, the variety is suitable for cultivation in various climatic conditions, including the Volga-Vyatka and East Siberian regions of Russia.
The SUCCESSFUL variety is recommended for growing in areas with a short growing season due to its early maturity and resistance to adverse conditions. Its strong stem and low growth ensure reliability during cultivation, while the high protein content in grain makes it attractive for agricultural production and processing.
