KiriChenko Mint is a tall, upright plant reaching heights of up to 1.5 m. The leaves are long, narrow, and light green, hairless, with sharp tips; stems are covered with reddish hairs. Inflorescences are cylindrical, medium width, flowers are lilac or purple, and petals have a pinkish hue.
The variety is characterized by high raw material yield – 36.8 c/ha, and high essential oil content (2.75%) with menthol making up about 40.6%. The vegetative period to full flowering is 114 days. KiriChenko Mint demonstrates resistance to lodging, diseases, and damage by mint aphids, making it suitable for mechanized harvesting on irrigated plots.
In industrial production, the plant is valued for the gradual release of menthol in solution during brewing, which ensures stable essential oil quality. In culinary and folk medicine, KiriChenko Mint is used for making tea, infusions, aromatherapy, and as a food additive due to its pleasant aroma and taste. The plant is easy to grow at home with moderate lighting and regular watering.
