German quince Hvamli – a versatile late-winter variety, characterized by its compact size: tree height of about 1.8 m and crown diameter of 1.6 m. The beauty of the plant is reflected in its rare, inverted-pyramidal crown, smooth greenish bark, and thick, brown shoots with pubescence. The flowers are large, white, and odorless, making them invisible to pollinating insects.

Hvamli fruits are characterized by a medium weight of 22 g to 36 g, a length of about 32 mm, and a diameter of 36 mm. The skin is rough, greenish-yellow at the time of harvest. Inside – a large heart-shaped core with an inverted heart-shaped pattern, translucent chambers, and rounded brown seeds. The flesh is white, dense, low-sucrose, with a sweet taste, making the berries suitable for both fresh consumption and compote preparation.

The variety is distinguished by high resistance to diseases and pests, winter hardiness, and drought tolerance. Regular fruiting provides a yield of about 100 c/ha. Hvamli is easy to grow in a temperate climate with moderate watering and regular fertilization; pruning is recommended to maintain shape and stimulate growth. Due to its versatility, the plant is suitable for both decorative and productive gardens.
