"Berehynia" is a perennial ryegrass variety developed by the National Scientific Center "Institute of Agriculture of NAAS". The variety is engineered to create adaptive swards capable of maintaining consistent productivity under the specific climatic conditions of Ukraine. Unlike specialized turf varieties, this grass is optimized for intensive forage production and soil conservation.

Technical Specifications and Morphology

• Growth Habit: Perennial loose-tussock grass.
• Regenerative Capacity: High regrowth intensity after mowing or grazing, supporting 3-4 harvests per growing season.
• Sward Structure: Develops a dense sod with a robust root system, essential for erosion control and establishing durable, long-term pastures.

Field Application and Agronomic Utility

The primary advantage of "Berehynia" lies in the high energy density of its biomass. Thanks to its significant tillering capacity, the sward reaches full productivity by the second year of establishment. The variety exhibits resilience against temperature fluctuations and moisture deficits common to the steppe and forest-steppe zones of Ukraine. In practical terms, this reduces the costs associated with reseeding and facilitates the creation of long-lasting sown meadows. The variety is effective both as a monoculture and as a component of complex forage mixtures, where the ryegrass acts as a bottom layer, filling the space between tall grasses and ensuring a stable protein yield per hectare.
