"Quickston" by the Danish breeding house DLF is a specialized variety of ryegrass (Lolium) designed for creating decorative turf with low maintenance requirements. Unlike standard forage varieties, this material has been bred with a strong focus on morphological stability and aesthetic resilience.

Biological Potential and Breeding Solutions

The key technological advantage of Quickston is its genetically embedded resistance to red thread disease (Laetisaria fuciformis). This pathogen is a traditional bottleneck in turf management, often requiring frequent fungicide applications. The originator (DLF/Lima Europa) has integrated defensive mechanisms into the plant's genome, significantly reducing the chemical load on the soil substrate.

• Vegetation Rate and Morphology: The plant reaches a height of 30–50 cm while maintaining dense tillering. The deep green color of the leaf blade is preserved throughout a prolonged growing season.
