Description
Kudryashka (Pelargonium crassifolium) – an early-flowering variety with pronounced ornamental value and good bushiness. The plant is of medium height, usually reaching 30–60 cm, with a spreading, moderately leafy form. Leaves are of medium length, wide, with incised edges and a widely open base; they are dark green, sometimes grayish, creating a dense green background for the flowering umbels.
A feature of this variety is the location of inflorescences exactly at the level of the crown: umbrella succulents do not rise above the stem but grow parallel to the leaves. The inflorescences are loose, about 10–11 cm wide and high, containing 20 to 30 simple flowers. Petals are moderately wavy; the upper petal is white along the edge with a reddish-purple spot, the lower one is white along the edge with a dark red central part. Colors vary from light pink to bright red shades.
Kudryashka differs in a long flowering period – 100–110 days, usually starting in late spring and continuing until mid-summer. The plant does not require special care: it is resistant to greenhouse whitefly, grows easily in pots and in open areas with moderate lighting. Thanks to its compact growth and bright colors, it is perfect for decorating balconies, window openings, gazebos and small garden corners.
