Description
Sinilga (Furrowed Geranium) – an indoor plant that can also be grown as an annual or perennial in temperate climates. A medium-height plant with a wide, heavily foliated bush form, medium-sized leaves that are wide and slightly curved with small notches along the edges. Leaves have an open base and long lobes.
Sinilga flowering lasts from 90 to 100 days, during which bushes form numerous inflorescences – about 145 per one bush. The inflorescences are umbel-shaped, loose, measuring approximately 6.5 × 4.5 cm. Each flower has a simple structure: two petals, the upper one light purple with a characteristic spot and the lower one purplish-pink without a spot. Flowers are about 2.9 × 3.5 cm in length. The plant's aroma is citrus.
Sinilga is distinguished by good resistance to greenhouse whitefly and weak leaf shedding. Thanks to its bright color and pleasant scent, the plant is often used for decorative purposes both in pots and in garden compositions, where it can serve as a natural barrier against some pests.
