KURAIYA SONG

The 'Kuraiya Song' peony cultivar features a double rose-type flower with a diameter up to 13 cm and a height of about 7 cm. The flowers are pink, fade slightly in the sun, and shed less, ensuring long-lasting decorative appeal. The petals are inversely ovate with crenate edges, the stamens are yellow, and the stigma is raspberry-colored. The flower has a pleasant but not too strong aroma. The pistils are undeveloped, explaining the non-fruiting nature of this cultivar. Blooming occurs late, at the end of June, and lasts about 10–14 days. The peony bush is erect, compact, with medium foliage and average growth rate, reaching a height of up to 55 cm and a diameter of up to 65 cm. Leaves are green, smooth, shiny, and weakly anthocyanic. The scape is sturdy, up to 70 cm high, capable of bearing one to three flowers, with a total of 20–24 stems per bush, of which 15–17 are generative. Due to its compactness and stability, the cultivar is suitable for both landscaping and cut flowers. The 'Kuraiya Song' peony was bred in the late 1990s at the Botanical Garden-Institute of Bashkortostan by open-pollination of the 'Amabilis Superbissima' cultivar. This cultivar is distinguished by high decorative value, rated at 95 points, and universal application. It does not fruit, which eases care and promotes long-lasting blooming. Due to its characteristics and appearance, 'Kuraiya Song' is an excellent choice for gardeners who appreciate beautiful and sun-fade-resistant flowers.
