SABANTUY

The 'Sabantuy' peony is a hybrid variety developed at the Botanical Garden-Institute of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Bushes reach a height of about 90-100 cm and have a diameter of approximately 100 cm. Stems are upright, sturdy, and slightly leafy, with three flowers per scape. Leaves are a rich green, highlighting the plant's decorative appeal.


The 'Sabantuy' peony flowers have a Japanese structure, consisting of two rows of petals. Outer petals are wide and rounded, while inner ones are narrowly lanceolate with a serrated edge curled upwards. The flower diameter reaches 13 cm; the color is tender coral-pink with a bright yellow center formed by ribbon-like wavy stamens. Styles are pink, and the pistil is green. Blooming occurs at an average time, lasting from 9 to 12 days. Flowers fade slightly in the sun and have a faint fragrance.


The variety is distinguished by high resistance to diseases and pests, as well as good adaptation to adverse weather conditions, making it versatile for cultivation in the central region of Russia. Thanks to its decorative qualities and durability, the 'Sabantuy' peony will become an excellent garden decoration and is ideal for creating floral compositions.
