Purpose and Design Features of the PLN 2-25

The PLN 2-25 mounted plow is a two-body tillage implement designed for high-quality plowing of various soil types for grain and industrial crops. The unit is engineered for fields free of large stones, limestone, or other inclusions that could damage the working components. The primary function of this model is deep soil loosening, furrow turning, and incorporation of crop residues to a depth of up to 25 centimeters, which promotes effective moisture retention and weed control during the early stages of cultivation.

The plow structure is based on a robust frame to which two working bodies are rigidly attached. The cutting width of one body is 25 cm, providing a total working width of 50 cm. Productivity, at an optimal operating speed of 5 to 9 km/h, ranges from 0.25 to 0.45 hectares per hour. The total weight of the unit is approximately 140–150 kg, allowing it to be used with a wide range of compact tractors with a power output from 24 to 35 horsepower, such as MTZ-320 models or similar tractors.

Application in Agricultural Operations

The PLN 2-25 plow is an essential tool for small to medium-sized farms and private landholdings. It effectively handles primary autumn plowing, preparing the soil for winter and facilitating moisture conservation. Thanks to the precise geometry of the moldboards, the implement ensures high-quality furrow turning, which is critical when incorporating green manure or residues of previous crops. Attachment and Adjustments

The plow's hitch system is adapted for the standard three-point linkage of tractors in the 0.6–0.9 traction class. Plowing depth is adjusted via a depth control wheel, which also acts as a travel stabilizer, preventing the plow from sinking beyond set limits in light soils. Adjustment of the bodies' attack angle and width of cut is performed via axial joints on the frame, ensuring the implement tracks straight behind the tractor without significant lateral deviation.

Reliability and Maintenance

The plow bodies are equipped with replaceable shares made of wear-resistant steel, simplifying their repair or replacement in field conditions. The unit's frame possesses a sufficient safety margin for work on heavy chernozem soils. Regular maintenance is limited to checking bolt connections and periodic lubrication of the hitch points. The simplicity of the design minimizes the likelihood of critical breakdowns during the season, making the PLN 2-25 one of the most maintainable solutions in its segment.

Advantages and Selection Criteria

The main advantage of the PLN 2-25 is its ideal ratio of weight to performance for small tractors. Unlike heavy multi-body plows, this model does not overload the tractor's hydraulic system and does not cause wheel slippage on wet sections.
