A workhorse for heavy soil conditions

When you head out to the field with the PLN 5-, you immediately realize: there is no excess electronics here, only raw metal and the logic of levers. This five-bottom plow was designed for standard tillage, where the reliability of the hitch and the quality of the furrow slice are far more important than setting adjustments via a tablet. After several seasons of operation in our conditions, the unit has proven itself as a predictable tool that does not shy away from rocky patches or dense, compacted chernozem.

Operation and Maintenance

The most important thing when working with this model is not to be lazy with settings at the start of your shift. The width of cut and depth adjustment mechanism requires a "feel for the metal": if the bolted joints are tightened properly, and the plowshares are surfaced or replaced on time, the tractor's traction power is used efficiently. Fuel consumption per hectare remains within reasonable limits, as long as you aren't trying to set a "record" for depth on dry soil. Maintenance is primitive: a few lubrication points, checking the torque on all joints after the first few rounds, and a visual inspection of the standards.

Repairability

The main advantage of the PLN 5- is that it can be "fixed on the fly" right in the middle of the field. The design is predictable, and any machinist in a regional center knows how to fabricate a bushing or fit a bolt for this plow. There is no shortage of consumables: plowshares, moldboards, and chisels are available at any agricultural supplier. If you bend a standard or hit a stump, repairs do not turn into a financial catastrophe, unlike imported reversible plows where waiting for a specific part can ruin your planting season.

Of course, there is less comfort in this machine compared to premium European implements, but it performs its main task—preparing the field for winter or seeding—honestly.
