Description
Perilla vegetable 'Rosinka' – a new spice-flavor culture, distinguished by high decorativeness and the ability to be grown as a border plant. The variety belongs to early-maturing, cold-hardy varieties with a long vegetative period of 135 to 150 days.
The plant reaches a height of 120–140 cm, has an upright stem, branching and quadrangular. Perilla 'Rosinka' is grown both in open ground and in greenhouses – via seedlings or direct sowing. The mass of one plant ranges from 200 to 500 grams.
Leaf yield varies depending on growing conditions: from 0.5 to 5.0 kg/m². Young green leaves can be used fresh – in salads, meat and fish dishes. At technical maturity, leaves are salted and marinated, and also dried to obtain a powder, which serves as an aromatic additive to meat and vegetable dishes.
Perilla greens are juicy, tender, with a refreshing taste and a mild aroma. In it, there are subtle notes of caramel, anise flowers and a slight peppery taste, which makes it attractive both in cooking and for decorative purposes.
