Description
Horseradish is characterized by high drought resistance and frost tolerance. The plant prefers fertile, loamy, or sandy loam soil, moist and well-lit (partial shade). For cultivation, cuttings 20 cm long and 0.5–1 cm in diameter are used, laid at a 30° angle with a spacing of 30×70 cm. Roots are harvested in the second half of October after 2–3 years of growth.
The variety has excellent storability and is suitable for mechanized cultivation. Yield is about 15 t/ha, and average root mass is up to 410 g. Horseradish is resistant to diseases (black rot, white rust) with the use of fungicides and is protected against pests with insecticides.
