Soyuz

SOYUZ is a mid-season spinach hybrid intended for growing in personal subsidiary holdings and for commercial purposes. The plant forms an elevated rosette of medium-sized leaves with a dark green coloration, which is darker than standard varieties, especially noticeable in hot conditions. The leaves have an oval-round shape, medium thickness, and a wavy structure, thanks to which bunches of spinach look more voluminous and attractive for the fresh market. High uniformity of plants in the field and vertical leaf arrangement facilitate harvesting, including mechanized harvesting.

The hybrid is characterized by high yields — from 1.6 to 1.9 kg per square meter, as well as adaptability to various growing conditions. SOYUZ has increased resistance to downy mildew (Peronospora farinosa), including races 1-12 and 14-16, which significantly reduces the risk of diseases and crop losses. Moreover, the variety is resistant to bolting, which allows for longer preservation of the commercial appearance and quality of the leaves.

Spinach SOYUZ is suitable both for fresh consumption and for processing. It is also recommended for growing on 'baby leaf' with a sowing density of up to 8 million plants per hectare, which allows obtaining tender young leaves. The time to reach harvestable conditions is 34-37 days, which makes the hybrid convenient for obtaining early and medium yields. Storage of the crop is possible for a short term, which meets the requirements of the fresh green market.
