Description
Hybrid sunflower 8N358CLDM is a mid-early trihybrid variety characterized by high oil content in seeds — up to 51%. This hybrid is versatile and suitable for cultivation in various soil-climate zones, making it a popular choice among farmers across Ukraine. It features excellent early growth during initial development stages, promoting successful root establishment and forming a robust root system.
The plant has medium height and medium-sized heads with a semi-vertical position. Head shattering resistance and lodging resistance are highly rated, ensuring crop yield retention. The hybrid exhibits rapid water release, which is crucial for timely maturation and seed harvest. Planting density varies depending on conditions: under optimal conditions — 55-65 thousand plants per hectare, in drought-prone or stressful conditions — 50-55 thousand plants per hectare.
8N358CLDM displays high resistance to several diseases, including rust, verticillium, phomopsis, as well as white mold (sclerotinia) of heads and stems. Additionally, the hybrid demonstrates good performance in germination speed, stem strength, uniform flowering, and self-pollination ability. Maturity group — 3, with flowering period around 67 days and physiological maturity period 110-115 days. The primary purpose of this hybrid is oil production, due to its high oil content and quality seed characteristics.
