Altai

The Altay sunflower variety is an early-maturing, large-seeded confectionery type developed for producing high-quality seeds with excellent taste characteristics. Plants reach a height of 170-180 cm, which provides optimal conditions for forming large seeds. The variety is characterized by an attractive appearance and responsiveness to mineral fertilizers, which contributes to increased yield and improved product quality.

Altay is characterized by high yield, which varies from 15.7 to 40 centners per hectare across different regions, with an average yield of about 19.2 centners per hectare. The 1000-seed mass varies depending on the source and ranges from 40.9 g to 155 g, indicating the variety's large-seeded nature. Seeds contain a high oil content — up to 45.7% — making them particularly valuable for the confectionery industry and oil production.

The variety exhibits moderate resistance to white mold and susceptibility to false powdery mildew, requiring adherence to agronomic practices for plant protection. It is recommended for cultivation in the Altai Krai, as well as in the Ural and West Siberian regions. The optimal sowing rate is approximately 35,000 seeds per hectare, ensuring maximum productivity and quality of the harvest.
