Description
Ampill — this is a medium-maturing sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) hybrid, intended for cultivation in the North Caucasus region. The plant is characterized by medium or high stature without branching, with green, heart-shaped leaves of medium size. The flowers, ligulate and tubular, have a bright yellow color, and the head, when mature, turns downward. The seeds are medium-sized, narrowly egg-shaped, predominantly black with gray stripes.
The hybrid exhibits high resistance to the Russian sunflower moth (races A-E), ensuring reliable protection against this pest. Average yield is about 20.7 t/ha, with maximum reaching 32.5 t/ha. The oil content in the seeds is high — 49.4%, making Ampill attractive for oil production. Due to the absence of branching and compact plant structure, the hybrid is well-suited for intensive cultivation techniques.
Ampill is recommended for cultivation in steppe and forest-steppe zones, where it demonstrates good adaptation and stable yield. High oil content in seeds and resistance to major diseases and pests make this hybrid an advantageous choice for farmers aiming to obtain high-quality, high-yield sunflower crops.
