Bazalt

The Basalt hybrid sunflower is a high-yielding variety for oilseed production, intended for cultivation in steppe and forest-steppe zones. It is characterized by a medium-early maturity period with a vegetation duration of 105 to 110 days, ensuring timely harvest. The seeds have a 1000-seed mass of about 75 grams, and potential yield reaches 4.3–4.7 tons per hectare, making this hybrid one of the best in its class.

The Basalt hybrid plants exhibit rapid early growth, a strong stem reaching 170–180 cm in height, and drought resistance, enabling successful cultivation under conditions of insufficient moisture. The sunflower head is thin, slightly convex, 18–22 cm in diameter, and slightly drooping, which promotes uniform and synchronized flowering and seed ripening. The hybrid is resistant to major diseases, including downy mildew (races A–E) and false powdery mildew, and possesses high resistance to shattering and lodging, reducing losses during harvest.

The oil content of the seeds is approximately 49–53%, and oil yield reaches 1.7–2.2 tons per hectare. The huskiness level is within 20–25%, facilitating seed processing. The recommended plant density varies depending on soil moisture: 55–60 thousand plants per hectare in adequately moist zones and 50–55 thousand in drought conditions. The Basalt hybrid is certified and meets national and international standards, confirming its high quality and reliability for oilseed production.
