Castelo

Castelo sunflower is a mid-early oilseed hybrid designed for conventional cultivation. It features high yield potential, reaching up to 55 centners per hectare, and high oil content in seeds — up to 52%. The hybrid belongs to the linoleic type and is suitable for oil production. The vegetative period ranges from 102 to 115 days, enabling successful cultivation in various climatic zones, including steppe, forest-steppe, and meadow regions.

Castelo exhibits high plasticity and drought resistance, ensuring stable performance even under water deficit. Recommended seeding rates vary depending on conditions: 50-55 thousand seeds per hectare under water stress, and 60-65 thousand plants per hectare under adequate moisture. Plants reach a height of approximately 155 cm, with a flower head diameter of 20-22 cm in a downward-leaning position.

The hybrid shows resistance to major sunflower diseases, including fusarium, fusariosis, powdery mildew, and downy mildew (races A-G). Seed class — elite, ensuring high-quality planting material.
