Description
Chakinsky 931 is a sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) variety included in the State Register for the Central-Black Earth region. It is characterized by early ripeness, which manifests as earlier flowering and maturation compared to regional standards by 4–15 days, averaging 8 days. The mass of 1000 seeds averages about 58 grams and can reach up to 90 grams in certain years. The vegetation period is approximately 116 days, allowing for effective use of the variety in the region's agroclimatic conditions, particularly in the Tambov region.
The variety is high-oil-content, with a fat content in seeds of about 52.5%, exceeding standard indicators by 3.7%. Average seed yield in the region reaches 20.5 centners per hectare, and in certain regions — up to 27.4 centners per hectare. Thanks to the high oil content, oil collection is about 9.5 centners per hectare, which corresponds to the level of standards. These indicators make Chakinsky 931 attractive for the production of oilseed products.
However, the variety has certain susceptibility to diseases. It is susceptible to downy mildew, Phoma, and Striga, and is also susceptible to white rot. At the same time, damage by white and gray rots is noted as weak. For successful cultivation, it is recommended to take these features into account and apply appropriate agrotechnical and protective measures. Overall, Chakinsky 931 represents an effective and high-yielding sunflower variety adapted to the conditions of the Central-Black Earth region.
