Description
The Danube hybrid sunflower is a high-yielding, mid-season hybrid of Serbian selection, adapted for cultivation in various climatic zones of Ukraine, including the Steppe, Forest-Steppe, and Polissia. The vegetation period ranges from 103 to 122 days depending on conditions, and plant height varies between 140-160 cm. The head has a convex shape with a diameter of 21-25 cm, medium-sized seeds, black with gray stripes. The hybrid features a strong root system capable of absorbing moisture from depths up to 2.5 meters, ensuring high drought resistance and resilience to stressful growing conditions.
Danube is characterized by high yield potential up to 6.0 t/ha (60 c/ha) and average oil content in seeds of 46-50%, as well as protein content of 16-18%. The hybrid is resistant to major sunflower diseases, including Phomopsis, downy mildew, white mold, and rust, as well as to infection by downy mildew and pests such as sunflower moth. High resistance to lodging and shattering makes this variety a reliable choice for conventional cultivation methods.
Recommended planting density is 50-60 thousand plants per hectare, ensuring optimal growth and maximum yield. Seeds are supplied in bags of 150,000 units, treated with a fungicide complex for disease protection. The versatility of the variety allows successful cultivation on various soil types, and its high adaptability to hot and dry conditions makes the Danube hybrid a profitable and stable solution for farmers.
