Description
DUET — an early-maturing sunflower hybrid intended for oil production. It has a vegetation period of 91–94 days and plant height ranging from 145 to 165 cm. The flower head is flat and fully oriented downward, facilitating harvesting. The recommended seeding rate is 58–62 thousand seeds per hectare, with a bag unit of 150 thousand seeds.
The DUET hybrid is characterized by high yield, averaging 35–50 centners per hectare, and high oil content in seeds — from 47 to 52%. The oil has a high oleic acid content (around 93%), enhancing its quality and value for industrial use. Plants are not prone to lodging, and seeds do not shed, ensuring yield retention.
A key advantage of DUET is its resistance to stress factors and diseases. The hybrid is tolerant to herbicides in the imidazolinone group, enabling effective use of the CLEARFIELD® system for weed control. Additionally, it is tolerant to diseases such as false powdery mildew (race PL 6), Alternaria, Septoria, and rust. DUET withstands drought, high temperatures, and temperature fluctuations, and is also less sensitive to soil type, making it a stable and adaptable choice for cultivation in forest-steppe and steppe zones.
