Description
Sunflower ES Arabella is an early-maturing hybrid developed by the French company "Euralis" and widely used in Ukraine due to its high yield and resistance to adverse conditions. The hybrid's vegetation period ranges from 90 to 105 days, plant height reaches 1.5 meters, and flower head diameter is about 22 cm. Seeds have a high oil content — from 49 to 51% — making this hybrid particularly attractive for oilseed production. ES Arabella demonstrates rapid early growth and is suitable for cultivation in various soil-climatic conditions, including the Polissia, Forest-Steppe, and Steppe regions of Ukraine.
The hybrid exhibits high resistance to a broad spectrum of diseases and stress factors. It is genetically resistant to seven races of parasitic weed flax rust, allowing successful cultivation on infested fields. Additionally, ES Arabella shows tolerance to diseases such as Phomopsis, Phomopsis, Verticillium, sclerotiosis (both heads and stems), false powdery mildew, rust, and Alternaria. The hybrid is also resistant to drought and lodging, ensuring a stable yield even under adverse weather conditions.
The recommended planting density is 60-65 thousand plants per hectare in well-watered zones and 50-55 thousand in areas with limited water availability. Yield potential reaches 4.5 tons per hectare, confirming the hybrid's high productivity. ES Arabella is suitable for traditional and moderately intensive cultivation technologies, making it a versatile choice for farmers seeking a stable and high-quality sunflower crop.
