Practical Field Experience with "Golda"

When you enter the field with the Golda sunflower hybrid by Ooo Global Sids, the first thing you notice is the uniformity of the crop. For an agronomist, this is the most critical metric: if the hybrid grows consistently, the harvesting process becomes a matter of routine rather than a series of unpleasant surprises. With a plant height of 190–200 cm, the operator’s work is simplified; the crop does not lodge, and the seed heads are positioned at the perfect height for the combine header, minimizing gathering losses.

Field Performance and Oil Content

The 110–120 day growing cycle is the “sweet spot” for our operations. The hybrid has enough time to accumulate biomass and reach full maturity before the long autumn rains set in. In terms of oil content, Golda consistently hits the 50–55% range. When we delivered the batch to the elevator, the results were near the upper limit, which directly impacts our final revenue. The large seed size facilitates easier planting and ensures vigorous emergence right from the start.
