Hysun 231 HO

Hysun 231 HO is a high-oleic IMI hybrid developed for cultivation using Clearfield technology. This medium-maturing hybrid has a vegetation period of 115–120 days and is characterized by high oil content — oil content reaches 52%, and oleic acid level reaches up to 91%. Plants reach a height of 165–180 cm, which contributes to good development and formation of yield. Seeds are black, and the hybrid is adapted to intensive cultivation conditions, making it versatile for various agroclimatic zones, including steppe, forest-steppe, and meadow regions.

Hysun 231 HO exhibits high resistance to major sunflower diseases, such as rust and downy mildew, and demonstrates tolerance to sunflower mosaic virus strains A–E. Although it lacks resistance to bird cherry, the hybrid shows excellent drought tolerance and suitability for early sowing and seeding density, enabling its effective use under various conditions and farming technologies. Recommended seeding rate is 45–55 thousand seeds per hectare depending on soil moisture level.

This hybrid is especially valued for its high oil content and oil quality, making it highly sought after for producing high-oleic sunflower oil according to Eurolight standards. Using Hysun 231 HO allows obtaining a stable and high yield with good technological properties, which is beneficial for farmers oriented toward modern methods of crop protection and increased sunflower productivity.
