LG 5380

Sunflower LG 5380 is a high-yielding mid-early hybrid developed by Limagrain and adapted for cultivation in various regions of Ukraine, including forest-steppe and steppe areas. This variety features high drought resistance and plasticity, ensuring a stable yield even under stress conditions. Plant height reaches approximately 155 cm, and the head diameter is about 16.5 cm. The recommended planting density is 50–55 thousand plants per hectare, which is optimal for achieving maximum productivity. Hybrid LG 5380 has high oil content in seeds at 52%, making it attractive for oil production. It is resistant to major sunflower diseases such as frogepsis, white mold, rust, and sclerotinia, and demonstrates good protection against the pest *A-G* with a resistance level of 7 points. Due to its genetically built disease resistance, this sunflower requires fewer fungicide applications, reducing cultivation costs and improving seed quality. For successful cultivation, seeds of LG 5380 are recommended to be pre-treated with an insecticide and growth stimulator. Sowing should be conducted in warmed and moist soil at a depth of 4–6 cm, with the field surface cleared of plant residues and having a fine crumbly structure for effective herbicide performance. The hybrid tolerates drought well and has high yield stability, making it a versatile choice for various climatic conditions and agronomic practices.
