Sunflower LG5542 CL — a mid-early hybrid developed by Limagrain, intended for cultivation in southern, eastern, and central regions of Ukraine. This variety is characterized by high yield, reaching 25 to 37 centners per hectare, making it an attractive choice for farmers aiming for stable and high yields. The recommended planting density is 45–50 thousand plants per hectare, which is optimal for achieving maximum productivity.

The hybrid exhibits high drought and stress tolerance, ensuring its adaptability to adverse climatic conditions. Seeds of LG5542 CL are resistant to the herbicide Euro-Lighting due to the Clearfield+ technology, enabling effective weed control without harming the crop. Additionally, the sunflower is genetically protected against several diseases, including Phomopsis, Phomosis, white, sooty, and dry rot, as well as resistant to new strains of powdery mildew and races of downy mildew (A–E).

Plants reach an average height of about 152 cm, and the flower head diameter is approximately 15.9 cm. The oil type is linoleic, meeting market requirements and ensuring high-quality oil. The hybrid is adaptable to various cultivation technologies, making it versatile and convenient from an agronomic standpoint.
