Field Experience with N 5 LM 307

When planning our season while dealing with field weed pressure, we chose N 5 LM 307 by Nuseed Europe. As operators familiar with the Clearfield (Euro-Lightning) system, we were looking for predictability, and this three-way hybrid delivers exactly that. With a plant height of 140–150 cm, the stand is uniform, which simplifies header adjustment — the combine runs smoothly, and harvesting losses are kept to a minimum.

Agronomic Insights and Crop Protection

The 100–110 day vegetation period allows us to plan the harvest without rush. Stability is a key factor here. On plots where white mold and downy mildew were problems in previous years, this sunflower performed remarkably well. Rots and powdery mildew did not become a critical threat to the yield, saving us budget on fungicide treatments.

Results and Seed Handling

The black seeds are of high quality: uniform emergence at proper seeding depth is standard for this hybrid. During threshing, we achieved a stable oil content of 45–50%, which directly impacts our bottom line. The hybrid is undemanding in field conditions and responds well to standard agronomic practices, with the Clearfield technology providing a strong foundation to control weeds early in the season.
