The Nord sunflower hybrid is an early-maturing northern-type variety, characterized by high cold hardiness and drought resistance. The plant is of medium height, reaching 150–160 cm, and has no branching. Leaves are of medium size, green with weak blistering and serration ranging from fine to medium. Flowers are ligule-shaped, narrowly ovoid, yellow; tubular flowers are orange; the head is semi-upright, medium-sized, with a strongly convex seed side. Seeds are of medium size, narrowly ovoid, black with weakly expressed gray stripes. Nord is an intensive-type hybrid with high ecological plasticity and adaptability to arid conditions, making it a leader in yield among early-maturing hybrids in arid regions. It is resistant to rust, moderately resistant to downy mildew and white mold, ensuring crop stability. Average seed yield in growing regions is about 18.9 c/ha, with a maximum yield up to 39.2 c/ha, confirming its high productivity. Oil content in Nord hybrid seeds ranges from 45.4% to 52%, ensuring a high oil output—an average of 10.1 c/ha. Early flowering time and high adaptability to climatic conditions make this hybrid suitable for cultivation in the Central Black Earth, Lower Volga, Middle Volga, Ural, and Western Siberia regions.
