Description
Sunflower NS H 6749 — a medium-early Serbian hybrid intended for cultivation in steppe and forest-steppe zones of Ukraine. It has a maturity group of 102–105 days, allowing for both early and late sowing. Plant height reaches 160–170 cm, with a potential yield of up to 5.5 t/ha (55 c/ha). Seed oil content varies from 50 to 55%, while protein content reaches 16–18%, making this hybrid highly efficient for producing high-quality raw material.
NS H 6749 exhibits high resistance to Russian thistle (volchok) strains A-G+, as well as diseases such as fusarium, phomopsis, downy mildew, and white rot. The hybrid is highly drought-tolerant and capable of withstanding sharp temperature fluctuations and heat, ensuring stable yields under adverse climatic conditions. Seeds are treated with fungicides thiophanate-methyl, thiabendazole, and metalaxyl-M, providing additional protection against diseases.
For cultivation, it is recommended to use row spacing of approximately 70 cm with pneumatic seeders. Sunflower NS H 6749 responds well to post-emergence herbicides such as Granstar, which effectively control weeds without damaging seedlings. The hybrid is also resistant to various soil herbicides, enabling the use of conventional cultivation technologies. This makes NS H 6749 a versatile and reliable choice for farmers aiming to achieve high-quality yields.
