NS Sumo 2017

The hybrid sunflower NS Sumo 2017 is a versatile variety developed by the Serbian selection NS Seme using Sumo technology and adapted for use with the herbicide Granstar. This hybrid exhibits high resistance to various races of downy mildew (Phytophthora) from A to F, providing reliable protection for crops. Plants reach a height of 150-180 cm, and the flower head diameter ranges from 18 to 22 cm. The maturity group is early-mid, with a vegetation period of 100 to 112 days, allowing the hybrid to thrive under various climatic conditions.

The hybrid NS Sumo 2017 has high yield potential, reaching 50-55 centners per hectare, and oil content in seeds at 46-53%. The seeds are large and black, indicating high quality. The plant demonstrates drought resistance, cold tolerance, and tolerance to a broad spectrum of diseases, including powdery mildew, rust, fomopsis, fomosis, septoria, as well as white mold and sunflower moth. The resistance level to diseases and stress factors is highly rated, making this hybrid a reliable choice for farmers.

The recommended planting density prior to harvest is 50,000-60,000 plants per hectare, depending on soil moisture. The hybrid is available in two technological solutions — Optimum and Premium — enabling selection of the optimal variant for specific growing conditions.
