NS Sumo 2019

Sunflower NS Sumo 2019 is a medium-early Serbian hybrid developed for the "Sumo" cultivation system with the use of the herbicide Granstar. This hybrid is characterized by high drought resistance and is adapted for cultivation in dry regions such as southern Ukraine. The vegetation period ranges from 106 to 112 days, and plant height varies between 150-180 cm, ensuring ease of agronomic operations and harvest.

Hybrid NS Sumo 2019 has a high yield potential — up to 5.5 tons per hectare with intensive application of microfertilizers, with average yield estimates of 27.7-29.9 centners per hectare. The thousand-seed weight reaches 58 grams, and oil content in seeds ranges from 48-51%, making this sunflower attractive for the oil industry. The seeds exhibit high genetic resistance to major diseases and pests, including false powdery mildew, rust, fomopsis, septoria, and others, allowing cultivation with minimal fungicide costs.

Sunflower NS Sumo 2019 demonstrates resistance to five races of flea beetle (A-F+), as well as high tolerance to lodging, shattering, and cold resistance, confirmed by ratings of 8-9 points. For weed control, the herbicide Granstar or Express is applied at a rate of up to 50 g/ha, with the option for reapplication if necessary. The recommended planting density before harvest is 55,000–60,000 plants per hectare, and in dry conditions — 50,000–55,000 plants. The use of innovative growth regulators and complex fertilizers further enhances yield and product quality.
