Field experience with the Ramio sunflower hybrid

When choosing a hybrid for unpredictable weather, the Ramio variety from Grand Semens proves itself as a reliable workhorse. With a vegetation period of 100-110 days, this sunflower fits perfectly into intensive crop rotations, allowing for timely field preparation for winter crops. I should highlight the plant height of 170-180 cm. This is the optimal range: the stalk is strong enough to withstand wind gusts, yet it does not cause problems during harvesting, ensuring uniform flow through the header.

Field protection and resistance

The primary concern for any agronomist is the diseases that eat away at yield at the finish line. With Ramio, the pathogen issue is addressed quite effectively. The hybrid demonstrates excellent immunity to charcoal rot (ashy stem blight), which is critical for arid regions. During operation, we also noted high resistance to a complex of rots, Phomopsis, and Phoma. While this doesn't mean you can skip fungicide treatments entirely, the economic threshold for damage here is significantly higher than that of many competitors.
