RT 9717 is an early-maturing sunflower hybrid with high adaptability and resilience, ensuring stable yield even under insufficient or critical moisture conditions. The maturity period is 101–109 days, allowing effective planning of agronomic activities. The hybrid features high oil content in seeds — from 51 to 54% — making it attractive for oilseed production.

One of the key features of RT 9717 is its high resistance to a broad spectrum of diseases, including Phomopsis, Phomosis, rust, white mold, and downy mildew, as well as to aphids of species A-G. This resistance significantly reduces the risk of yield loss and decreases the need for frequent fungicide applications. Additionally, the hybrid exhibits high drought tolerance, which is especially important for cultivation in areas with variable moisture levels.

Recommended growing zones include the Polесье, Forest Steppe, and Steppe regions. The optimal planting density depends on moisture conditions: under sufficient moisture, 55–60 thousand plants per hectare are recommended, while under critical drought, 40–45 thousand plants per hectare are advised. The hybrid is designed for use in herbicide protection systems, particularly with herbicides from the Express SX (Granstar) group, which effectively controls weeds and contributes to high yields.
