The "Rom" three-way hybrid, developed by the Veselopodolskaya Research Station of the UAAS, is engineered for stable performance under Ukrainian climatic conditions. Its hybrid structure ensures crop uniformity and maintains reliable yield levels, which are critical for precision farming.

Morphological and Vegetation Characteristics

With a vegetation period of 100–110 days, this medium-early hybrid fits well into diverse crop rotation schedules. The plants reach a height of 150–180 cm, balancing biomass production with lodging resistance. The medium-sized, convex-shaped head is designed to optimize water drainage, reducing the impact of moisture-related diseases during the ripening phase.

Agronomic Advantages

The core technical feature of the Rom hybrid is its genetic tolerance to Imidazolinone herbicides (the "Clearfield"/"Euro-Lightning" system). This integration allows for the efficient elimination of weeds and parasitic Orobanche without the need for mechanical tillage, thereby preserving subsoil moisture.
