Sava

Sunflower Sava is a mid-season hybrid developed for high yield in various climatic zones, including Steppe, Forest Steppe, and Polесье. This hybrid is resistant to major sunflower diseases such as downy mildew (races A-G), Phomopsis, and sclerotinia, and also exhibits high drought tolerance, ensuring stable growth and productivity even under adverse conditions. Plant height reaches 160-170 cm, flower head diameter is 22-24 cm, and the head inclination is semi-angled, which promotes optimal seed formation and harvesting convenience.

Sava is characterized by high oil content — up to 49% — making it attractive for oil production. The vegetation period ranges from 104 to 108 days, with flowering occurring on day 67-70 after emergence. Recommended planting density varies depending on soil moisture: 55-60 thousand plants per hectare under low moisture conditions and 60-65 thousand under adequate moisture. The hybrid demonstrates good tolerance to dense planting and resistance to lodging, facilitating agronomic operations and reducing yield losses.

To achieve maximum productivity, it is essential to follow optimal planting dates, considering regional climatic conditions. Early planting may cause plant stress due to late frosts and increased susceptibility to diseases, so it is recommended to choose dates that provide favorable growing conditions. Thanks to its well-developed root system and strong stems, Sava shows high competitiveness against weeds and resistance to lodging, contributing to stable growth and high yields, reaching up to 52 centners per hectare.
